Glow Naturally: An Easy Homemade Sugar Scrub You’ll Love
There’s something so satisfying about making your own skincare products — especially when they’re simple, affordable, and made with ingredients you already have in your kitchen.
Today I’m sharing one of my absolute favorites: a homemade sugar scrub that leaves your skin soft, glowing, and refreshed.
Whether you’re making this for a self-care Sunday, a teacher gift, or even adding it to your small handmade product line, this scrub is customizable, beautiful, and effective.

Why Sugar Scrub?
Sugar scrubs are gentle exfoliators that:
Remove dead skin cells
Improve circulation
Help moisturizers absorb better
Leave skin silky smooth
Smell amazing (when you add your favorite scents!)
Unlike salt scrubs, sugar is less abrasive and dissolves more easily, making it perfect for sensitive skin.
Basic Sugar Scrub Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup granulated sugar (white or brown)
1-2 bottles of Jaloma Almond, Coconut oil, or Avocado oil (This depends on the amount of moisture you prefer in your scrub. I like mine with extra oil for lasting moisture and smoother application.)
1 teaspoon vitamin E oil (optional, but great for skin!)
10–15 drops essential oil (lavender, vanilla, peppermint, lemon, etc.) or fragrance oil (This is my personal favorite. Just pick scents that are soap safe. They even have similar scents of top brands like Sol de Janeiro, Bath and Body Works, and Victoria Secret.)
Soap colorant (Optional, if you like colored scrub)
Flower Petals or Herbs like Rosemary (Optional, but aesthetically pleasing especially for gifts!
Tools Needed:
glass eyedropper (Plastic again will absorb fragrance)
Jar(s) (I use mason jars or similar ones)
*** Good options for jars with lids are these:
4oz mason jars glass, 4oz similar to mason jars, 4 oz plastic with lids, plastic mason-like jars with lids***
Directions:
In a glass mixing bowl, combine sugar and oil.
2. Stir until the texture is fluffy but still grainy.
3. Add vitamin E oil, soap colorant, and essential or fragrace oils.
4. Mix well.
5. Spoon into a clean glass jar with a lid, I prefer mason jars.
That’s it! Simple, right?
